As soon as i saw the iPad launch, one thought went through my mind:
mobile Board GAMES have arrived.
Board Games on a touchscreen are going to be a great niche for the iPad. iPad apps designed to be played with friends around a table. They would be the perfect meeting of new and hip video gaming with some good old fashioned fun :)
I immediately discussed this with a friend who has been developing a checkers iPhone app (which all of a sudden became much more interesting as a project in light of the iPad). I thought that i rather not blow up the spot on my inkling of an idea, so i did not post on here. However my friend just shared a link with me that shows that my idea was not that novel at all:
